What is your favourite freshwater fish to catch?
DanGleebits asked:
Mine has to be Perch. I think they are the best looking fish and they give a great fight when you hook into them, especially anything over 2lb. If you have every caught a big perch over 2lb, you’ll know what I mean. What is your favourite freshwater fish?

perch are a nice fish;but i think a rudd is quite colourful too;also i think the grayling ;{or lady of the stream} as its known;with its long dorsal fin and body shape looks good too;i must say though; tench and cruician carp and a good roach are my favourites, well? i guess if the truth;s known all fish are favourites on a bad day;lol,
I like bass, catfish, and Oscar they put up the best fight pound for pound out of every fresh water fish I’ve caught but north, muskie and lake trout.
Bass, big crappie
Catfish, meow!
You don’t say where your at but if your in or can go to Nevada i would say the wiper would be about the funnest to catch!
Well overall I woul dhave to say Largemouth Bass. However each freshwater species have their time and place in my heart. Fishing is fishing and what ever mood I am in tells what I will be fishing for. For a list of freshwater species visit
Smallmouth/northernpike/walleye and crappie to eat.
gotta love a big fat carp
know what you mean about the perch. I like them and pike. (not to keen on unhooking pike though) Like a bit of carping too
I’ve always preferred bass fishing but I have to say I have more fun crappie fishing. They put up a pretty good fight and if you locate a good top loaded with crappie you can catch em all day.
The two kings of northeast Ohio:
Steelhead and Smallmouth Bass
