What do I use for vinyl lettering my boat?
Just bought a new boat or Yacht? Congratulations! Now you have to apply your registrration numbers, and we suggest using vinyl lettering. While they be slightly sifferent state to state, always make sure to check your local rules and regulations. Here are some requirments for the state of Florida:
The registration number issued to an undocumented vessel is to be painted or permanently attached to both sides of the bow (forward half) of the vessel and must be in block letters and numerals at least three inches high. The registration number needs to read left to right. It needs to contrast with the hull color and kept in readable condition.
The prefix and suffix must be separated from the numerals by a space equal to the width of the digits, i.e., FL 0001 AB.
Boat letters are very easy to apply, one of the main things is to make sure that the boat surface where you will be applying the registration number is nice and clean. So many people overlook this part of the vinyl lettering installation process, but we can’t stress it enough just how important this is. If the surface you are trying to adhere too isn’t clean then the vinyl lettering will never last. Believe us, you don’t want to have an undue ticket stuck on your for bad vinyl lettering installation. We include installation instruction and a simple way to order your registration numbers in vinyl lettering. You can use our boat registration page which will give you Arial Bold lettering 3 inches by approximately 22 inches, this will give you several colors to choose from and it includes a set. Or you can go to our vinyl lettering tool if you wish to order a different font or add a border, shadow or an effect to your boat vinyl lettering.
