lol no problem man I’ll help you out anytime…first choose an appropriately sized hook tie it on very well hopefully you member’ how to tie a knot if not then let me know…then get your weights and space then just where you need them…use plyers and put the line in the ***** of the weight and push down so it stays on….if they are other weights then you can put them through the hook then bring them up and tie a knot with them…ot some you have rubber and you have to twist them on…hope I could help you but you’ll figure it out…glad to hear that you’ve come back to fishing…we all welcome you back cept’ the fish though lol
I always put my sinker on first. The way the other guy explained may work well for him or both of you, but not me.
All I do is Bass fish so the very first thing I do when rigging a Plastic Worm is putting the slip sinker one first. Afterwards I go down about 2-3 inchs of line (down the line) and tie my 3/0 hook on and I’m ready to go.
Even when I catfished and bream fished back in the day, I still rigged my reels just like I do now. The only difference is I used a split shot sinker (about 3-4 inchs “above” the hook) instead of a slip sinker.
