Enjoying A Few Hours On A Fishing Charter Boat With Dad Makes for A Fantastic Father’s Day
Recently out of a healthcare facility, ten year old Pasadena resident, Joey Filetto, has an ailment described as T-cell leukemia. He barely gets to spend very much time now with his dad as a result of his intensive medical treatments at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his dad’s employment to pay for the mounting healthcare charges. Despite that fact, tomorrow on Father’s Day, he and his father, Joe Filetto, will thoroughly enjoy the afternoon on a charter fishing boat.
This anxiously awaited day is a treat provided by the fishing charter service, Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing, and the Casey Cares Foundation. The Casey Cares Foundation realizes that even though we can’t heal the emotionally stressful conditions, most of us would like to help the relatives in compassionate and inventive ways. The organization renders exceptional dreams to seriously ill youngsters and their family members all over Maryland and the mid-Atlantic states.
“It definitely is a wonderful name for that organization due to the fact they truly care for the children,” said Joe Filetto. He will love enjoying Father’s Day fishing with his son. This function is a portion of “Family Festivities,” one of six services of the organization. As one social worker says, “Your organization is similar to this little gem that gets placed in their world to help present opportunities for these youngsters and their families to loosen up, have fun, rejoice, and be acknowledged as the special people they are.”
Along with the Filettos will be 8-year-old leukemia patient, Mikey Thurin, his brother Chris and dad Jim; 12-year-old leukemia patient, Kevin Gill and his dad Kevin; 10-year-old Caroline Keller being treated for non-Hodgkins lymphoma and her dad Jeffrey; and 12-year-old Alexandra Hancock who is fighting a malignant brain tumor, and her siblings Emily, Lindsay and Suzanne and dad Jeff.
All the fathers and their youngsters will sail off from the charter boat’s pier in Stevensville and spend good quality time together on the fishing charter in the Chesapeake Bay until dark after enjoying box lunches provided by Heavenly Ham of Severna Park.
“I can not help relieve their pain,” Rich Shot, owner of Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing, said in a press release. “But I can give back in a way to create a memory that will last a lifetime.”
