Lake Lefferts on Ravine Drive in Matawan. My brother goes catfishing there all the time. (exit 117 on th GSP)

Go to a fishing pier.
The coast is lined with them.

Use fresh shrimp it works much better than the frozen they sell.

i fished a few times right by 6 flags great adventure and caught a lot of fish right from shore.There were trout pickeral and a lot of bass to 9 lbs

Why fish freshwater when you can fish saltwater? If you have light tackle, that’s even better. Try the Keansburg pier for your first time. You might catch a fluke or bluefish, or striped bass,weakfish, etc…
