try cleaning the water and those rips could be from an object like background for the fish

You should try adding Melafix to the water, it won’t harm anything and will help clear up bacterial infections on your fish and help his injuries heal up.

You certainly have a serious bacterial infection going on on your swordtail. I would say that you actually have two seperate infections, fin rot and a problem with his eyes. To treat the fin rot will require something fairly strong. I would suggest Maracyn or Maracyn 2 as it sounds like it’s beyond th stage at which Melafix would be of any use.

As for the eye problem, dependng on what the white stuff looks like, it could be one of several things. It may be bacterial, in which case the above treatment will also treat the eye problem, or it could be a fungus if the white stuff is cottony looking, or it could even be a protozoan infestation. If it looks like the white stuff its also on the body of the fish around it’s eye that indicates a protozoan infestation and you will need to treat with Metronidazole to clear that up. If it’s a fungus then I would suggest a malachite green based fungus remedy.

You should carry these treatments out in a seperate tank or container (a medium to large plastic storage box would do well) that has an air stone in it to provide water circulation. The antibiotic treatment would be harmful to your bacterial cycle in your tank.

You need to put in in a separate “hospital tank” turn the heat to 82 degrees put in medicine and keep covered with towel to reduce stress

Change the water immediatly………….
Add salt (2 or 3 table spoon for 4ft tank)……….and anti chlorine……
You can see the difference quickly………

Sounds like it may be too late.
